Marketing for pressure washing companies, run on my own pressure washing company first

I own Supreme Clean, a pressure washing company in Huntsville doing five thousand dollars a month. Every ad I would run for you, I have already paid for myself. This is the one page on this site where I am not describing a client's business. I am describing mine.

01 / The problem

What goes wrong when pressure washing companies advertise

Pressure washing is an impulse-adjacent purchase with a visible trigger. Nobody wakes up wanting a clean driveway. They see a neighbour's house get done, or they list the house, or a guest is coming Saturday. The ad's job is to arrive at that moment and make booking take under sixty seconds.

The trap is competing on price in a trade where the tool costs two thousand dollars and any teenager can buy one. The moment your ad leads with a number, you are in a race against a guy with a trailer and no insurance, and he will always be cheaper.

The second trap is the quote form that takes three days. Half of the money in this trade is won by whoever answers first. Not whoever is best. Whoever answers first.

02 / The build

What To The Max builds for pressure washing companies

  1. Before and after creative, shot on a phone, on real driveways in the actual neighbourhoods you want to work in. Generic stock washing footage does not convert here and never has.

  2. A single offer with a number attached to the outcome, not the hour. House wash, driveway, walkway, one price, booked for a named day.

  3. A lead form that asks for four things: name, phone, address, what needs cleaning. Every extra field is money.

  4. An instant text back the second the form submits, before they close Facebook. Then a reminder at hour two and hour twenty-four if nobody has replied.

  5. Radius targeting on the neighbourhoods that actually pay, not the whole metro. A pressure washing ad shown ten miles past your drive time is a donation.

03 / The maths

The math I run on my own company

Every number below is a planning range or a target, not a claimed result. The only claimed results on this website are dated in the Ledger.

Typical house wash ticket
$250 to $600
Driveway or flatwork add-on
$100 to $250
What a lead can cost and still work
$15 to $40
Booking rate you need on those leads
1 in 4 or better
Where the season lives
March to October, front-loaded

These are the numbers I plan against on my own business. Yours will differ by market and crew size, and we will find yours in the first thirty days of spend rather than guessing at them forever.

04 / Questions

Questions pressure washing companies ask

Do Facebook ads actually work for pressure washing?

Yes, and it is one of the better trades for it, because the result is visual and the decision is fast. A before and after on a house that looks like the viewer's house does most of the selling. The failure mode is almost never the platform. It is a slow reply to the lead the ad produced.

How much should a pressure washing lead cost?

In most markets, fifteen to forty dollars. On an average ticket of three hundred dollars and a one in four booking rate, a thirty dollar lead means about one hundred and twenty dollars of ad spend per booked job. That works. If leads cost eighty dollars, the offer or the creative is wrong, not the channel.

What ad budget does a pressure washing company need to start?

Enough to buy roughly thirty leads a month, which in most markets is six hundred to one thousand dollars. Below that you cannot tell a bad campaign from a slow week, and you will kill something that was working. I will tell you the number for your market before you spend anything.

Should the ad show a price?

It should show an outcome with a price attached, which is different. A number with no picture of what you get invites a price comparison you will lose. A specific package, for a specific kind of house, for a specific price, on a named day, is a different offer than a cheaper number from a guy with no insurance.

Is winter dead for pressure washing ads?

Not dead, different. Residential demand drops and commercial demand does not. Off-season budget moves to gutter cleaning, commercial flatwork, holiday light installs where you offer it, and to filling the spring calendar early at a booked-now price. The worst winter move is switching the ads off entirely and rebuilding the account in March.
