How marketing actually works in your trade
A roofing lead and a lawn care lead are not the same thing, and an agency that treats them the same is guessing with your money. Every page below has the offer, the campaign structure, and the lead maths for one specific industry, written out before anybody spends a dollar.
Pick your trade
If yours is not here, it does not mean the answer is no. It means nobody has written the page yet. Text 281-908-4874 and ask.
- Artists & studios This is the one category on this site where a client campaign is already live and documented.
- Auto detailing Detailing has the most beautiful creative in local service and the worst offers.
- Auto repair An independent shop is not competing on price with the dealership.
- Chiropractic Chiropractic advertising lives or dies on one number almost nobody tracks: the percentage of booked new patients who actually walk through the door.
- Concrete & epoxy Concrete and epoxy sell the same way kitchens do: on a photograph and a price range.
- Dental A dental practice does not need more patients.
- Electrical Electrical is the trade most often stuck selling hours.
- Fencing & decks Fences and decks are bought in the spring and decided in the winter.
- Garage doors A broken garage door is an emergency and a new garage door is a curb appeal purchase.
- Gutters Gutters are the most weather-triggered purchase in home services.
- Gyms & studios A gym is a subscription business wearing a building.
- House cleaning One deep clean is a job.
- HVAC HVAC advertising is not really about the tune-up.
- Junk removal Junk removal is the closest thing in the trades to an impulse purchase.
- Landscaping & lawn There are two completely different businesses inside most landscaping companies: a recurring maintenance route, and design-build projects.
- Med spas Med spa advertising is the most policy-restricted category a local business can run, and the most profitable when it is done inside the rules.
- Moving Moving is a dated purchase with a hard deadline and near-total commoditisation.
- Painting Painting is a visual, high-ticket, seasonally swinging trade where the difference between a good year and a bad one is usually whether the schedule was booked before the season started..
- Pest control Pest control is one of the best recurring-revenue businesses in the trades and it is almost always advertised as a one-off spray.
- Plumbing Most plumbing marketing advice is about ranking for emergency searches.
- Pool service A pool service company is a route business.
- Pressure washing I own Supreme Clean, a pressure washing company in Huntsville doing five thousand dollars a month.
- Real estate Most agents buy buyer leads because they are cheap.
- Restoration Restoration is won in the first hour and sold through other people.
- Roofing Roofing has the best ad math in home services and the worst lead handling.
- Salons & barbers A salon does not have a traffic problem, it has a rebooking problem.
- Siding & windows Siding and windows are sold in the living room, not in the feed.
- Solar Solar has the worst lead quality problem in local advertising.
- Tree service Tree work is two businesses in one truck: planned trimming, which is steady and cheap to advertise, and emergency removal, which is enormous, unpredictable, and won entirely on speed..
- Veterinary A new veterinary client is not a visit.
- Window cleaning Window cleaning has the tightest margins and the best recurring structure in exterior services.
- Window tint & PPF Tint is one of the few local trades where the customer already knows what they want before they search.
What is the same in every trade
The offer changes, the season changes, and the number a lead can cost changes enormously between a lawn care plan and a full arch dental case. Four things never change.
Speed beats quality of ad. Across every industry on this site, the business that contacts the lead first wins a disproportionate share of the work, and it is not close.
Cost per lead is the wrong number. The right one is cost per booked job, or cost per retained customer. A cheap lead that never converts is the most expensive thing in the account.
Recurring beats one-off. Every trade here has a version of the offer that repeats, and it is almost always the one that makes the advertising affordable.
The list you already have is free money. Past customers, dormant patients, old quotes. In most businesses, reactivating them books work before a single new ad has run.
